Basha Product Swing Tags
These three product swing tags were designed by Karla for Basha Boutique's fairtrade products. She used photos she had taken while working at Basha Boutique to give customers an idea of how their unique product was made. The back of each tag includes Basha
- branding
- logo
- slogan
- product care instructions
- social media icons and websire URL
A one inch square has been left blank for the retail price sticker or barcode. Once printed on high quality matte coated cardstock, the design is a three by five inch swing tag that can be attached to the blankets with ribbon or twine before they are exported around the world to retail locations.
Basha Miniature Catalogue
Basha already had a full sized catalogue design, but it would be too expensive to print in large quantities. This mini catalogue packs a large amount of information into one A3 sized paper, cleverly folded to make an 8 page booklet. This design is perfect to be printed in bulk and handed out at events or tucked into a order ready for shipping to the customer to remind them of other great products Basha has to offer.
Social Media Campaign: Images for Day Against Trafficking in Humans
These three images were designed by Karla for the Day Against Trafficking in Humans, July 30, 2016. She used photos she had taken while working at Basha Boutique to emphasize the positive, hopeful aspect of the working to end human trafficking.
These images were used as a social media campaign across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest to bring awareness to the work Basha does all year to end human trafficking.
Social Media Campaign: Images for Welcome New Artisans
This design project was planned, created, and carried out by Karla. She used photos she had taken while working at Basha Boutique to create a series of images for social media that would introduce several of the many new Basha artisans to Basha's followers and customers.
These images were used as a social media campaign across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. The call to action was to have customers find out more about the artisans who made their Basha fair trade items and to send their artisan a message.
Call for Submissions Poster
As Chief Visual Editor of the Eastern Mennonite Univerity student literary and visual arts journal, The Phoenix, Karla created this poster to be distributed in print on all notice boards on EMU's campus. The poster needed to be
- Eye-catching
- Informative
- Visually relevant to the suject
The challenge was to distill a lot of important information into an easy to comprehend poster format.
Cover for 2015 The Phoenix
As Chief Visual Editor of the Eastern Mennonite Univerity student literary and visual arts journal, The Phoenix, Karla created this cover art and designed the interior layout of the journal. She used a photo manipulation art piece that had been submitted to the journal for entry, flipped the image on its axis, and used the color sceme of the original artworkt to create the title and subtitles on the cover.
To see Karla's work in the layout of the journal, a digital version of the journal is available here.
Art Gallery Exhibit Poster
Karla created this poster in 2015 to advertise the opening of her and two other artists' senior capstone gallery exhibit.
The challenge in this design was to find a visually interesting way of including threee very different bodies of art in one poster in a cohesive manner. Karla chose to take small details from each artist's work and split the poster into three wedge-shaped spaces.
